Dating older women and stigma
What I take issue with is that men somehow have this stigma against women where they think women are worth less for aging while men try primp themselves up as being better with age. And those are the men that young or older women alike have to stay away from.
No, it’s not your imagination- these days, there’s a bigger contingent of women in their mid-thirties to fifties on the prowl.
The age gaps spanned anywhere from 10 to 14 years, with women in their late 40s and early 50s enjoying relationships and/or marriage with men in their late 20s or 30s. Couples in this situation had to address the fertility concern head-on, with some choosing to take the leap relatively quickly while others took a pass.
And then there’s also the concern about one’s looks.
Put another way, if a woman has an array of other quality options closer to her age range, what incentives would she have to date a man who is SEVENTEEN YEARS OLDER? Before any 40 people get all hot and bothered about this – I am not judging. I do think people improve with age (my wife is nodding). She doesn’t need a guy who will be taking Viagra when she’s sexually peaking at 43..
But let’s not pretend that we, as a culture, don’t worship at the altar of youth. He’s got the job and the home and the car, and been divorced with a kid already.
The soaring divorce rate and the subtle shift in women who are more career-minded, rather than marriage-minded, have fueled this evolution.
In the past decades, women generally married men who were older and more stable while women who liked younger men were ridiculed for playing ‘Mrs.
But that fear has forced her to come up with her own solution to the issue. ’ Your answer could be, ‘I’m going to get a facelift.’ My answer is, ‘I’m going to be such a beautiful person inside that it’s going to shine through to the outside,'” she told the magazine. When it comes to the subject of love we always hope that there are no real significant barriers to its success. In our hearts, if not in our heads, we’re convinced that love will always trump practical concerns such as money, social class, race and even gender. And what about age as it relates to older women involved with younger men?Hey, I’m no psychologist – just your friendly, neighborhood dating coach. Whether we like it or not, there is nearly a full generation gap between 28 and 45.But I do know women, and lots of women in their 20’s. A few women may bridge this gap for lust or money or dimestore psychological reasons, but most of the 28-year-old women I know would prefer to date a great, stable 30-40 year-old – who also knows what Snapchat is. But don’t forget, you and your younger girlfriends are the EXCEPTION. Lance, you should remember that Nina can’t possibly speak for all women.
